New Computer Update, hopefully

Today I'll take a little detour since i haven't got any time yet to play other games (i do have 2 prepared that should be interesting) and don't want to bore you with another Minecraft article.

So as i have mentioned I'm planning to also produce some YouTube videos, but my current PC is kind of lacking on computing power to handle recording properly and also in general its getting quite old quicker and quicker

My current specs are:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Hard Drive: 320 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
Motherboard: ASUS M2N-E
Operating System: Windows XP Professional

and what i plan to update to is:

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 640 with ARCTIC Freezer 7 Rev.2
Memory: 2x4GB KIT DDR3 1333MHz GOLD
Hard Drive: 1TB + old one 320 GB
Video Card: GAINWARD GTX460 SE 1GB DDR5
Motherboard: ASROCK N68-GE3 UCC
Operating System: Windows 7

all that i need now is to save up some money of course, but it shouldn't take long. But what do you guys think? good enough update? will it work fine together etc.? leave your opinions in comments

  1. I'd take it. Even your old computer would be a great upgrade for me. :p

  3. I'd say the update would be very good. Be glad you skipped Windows Vista. What a disaster that was.

  4. Make sure you get the 64 bit version of Windows 7 if you're going with that much RAM.

I'm actually so jealous of those specs. I've been wanting to get a new PC for so long now. =[

  7. It is a good update, but it all depends on the cost of the system.
